PITTSBURGH The New Jersey Turnpike Authority has approved a $4.3-million settlement over substantial damages to a highway overpass caused by an improperly loaded car crusher.
In June 2008, a car crusher being transported by Porchtown Recyclers Inc., Newfield, N.J., hit the Lacey Road overpass on the Garden State Parkway, where it became wedged. The loaded vehicle was 17 feet high, while the overpass had a 15-foot clearance.....
