PITTSBURGH A decline in volumes generated by energy efficiency programs, narrower margins in its retail segment and startup costs for a new processing center pushed Appliance Recycling Centers of America Inc. (Arca) into the red in the second quarter.
The Minneapolis-based appliance recycler posted a $551,000 net loss for the three months ended June 30 in contrast to net income of nearly $2.08 million a year earlier on revenue that fell 10.8 percent to $29.34 million.....
