Merger, acquisition activity slows in metals sector: PwC

LONDON — The volume and values of merger and acquisition (M&A) deals in the global metals industry dropped during the second quarter of 2012 following the downward trend in metals prices, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP’s (PwC) metals team said in a report.

There were 35 deals during the period, valued at a total of $18.55 billion, PwC said in its second-quarter mining and metals M&A analysis. Nearly half of these were in China. ....
