Lead and zinc scrap prices hold steady

NEW YORK Free-market scrap lead battery prices were unchanged this week despite rumors of one consumer paying upwards of 49 cents per pound.
Whole auto batteries were unchanged at 43 to 45 cents per pound, while lead scrap was steady at 68 to 70 cents per pound.
The London Metal Exchanges three-month lead price closed Wednesdays official session at $1,850 per tonne (83.9 cents per pound), down 2.6 percent from $1,900 per tonne (86.2 cents per pound) at the start of the month.....
