Aluminum scrap, alloy prices lose more ground

NEW YORK — Prices for A380.1 and A319.1 secondary aluminum alloy have eased further as London Metal Exchange prices dipped Thursday, while one scrap broker said that activity is the slowest he has seen since 2008.
Free-market A380.1 eased to a range of 97 to 98 cents per pound Thursday from 97 to 99 cents per pound as the LME’s North American special aluminum alloy contract (Nasaac) cash price closed the official session below $1,800 per tonne. A319.1 also dropped to a range of $1.03 to $1.04 per pound Thursday.....
