Silicomanganese prices firm as supply tightens

NEW YORK Silicomanganese prices have firmed for the first time since early March as supply in the domestic market is said to be tightening.
"Weve seen some push-up on silicomanganese," one trader said. "We sold some material at higher levels this (past) week."
"The guys (consumers) are worried about supply," a second trader said of the reason for the increase, which comes even as prices for most other alloys have been declining steadily over the summer.....
