GM slates $220M investment in Ohio

CHICAGO — General Motors Co. plans to spend $220 million on tooling and equipment to build the next-generation Chevrolet Cruze at its Lordstown and Parma, Ohio, manufacturing facilities.
The investment will help the Detroit-based automaker retain more than 5,000 jobs at the two plants.
The Lordstown complex, with support from a metal parts manufacturing center in Parma, has built more than 500,000 of the compact passenger sedans since production began in September 2010. The Parma metal center shipped about 60 million parts and processed more than 1,000 tons of steel per day last year,....
