OSHA cites steel distributor for alleged safety violations

CHICAGO — Precision Steel Services Inc., a Toledo, Ohio-based distributor and processor of carbon and alloy steel bar and plate, faces 11 safety violation citations from the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) with proposed penalties totaling $66,330.

Nine of the 11 alleged violations were classified as "serious." The citations included failure to protect workers from falls; failure to provide lockout and tagout procedures; failure to properly inspect forklifts; failure to ensure forklift brakes were set when parked;....
