NEW YORK U.S. prices for containerized ferrous scrap exports to India have fallen over the past week as consumers remain apprehensive and turn to closer shores.
Market participants in both countries said prices for containerized shredded scrap to India declined some $5 to $8 per tonne, putting U.S. shredded scrap sales at between $425 and $435 per tonne c.f.r. Nhava Sheva, with most sales reported at around the $430-per-tonne level, down from a range of $430 to $443 per tonne previously (amm.com, Aug. 24).....
