NEW YORK General Cable Corp. has completed its $151-million cash acquisition of Alcan Cables North American operations from Rio Tinto Plc.
Highland Heights, Ky.-based General Cables purchase includes four manufacturing plants and a distribution center, a General Cable spokesman told AMM. Alcans North American business accounts for between 85 and 90 percent of Alcans overall revenue. ....
