NEW YORK — General Cable Corp. has completed its $151-million cash acquisition of Alcan Cable’s North American operations from Rio Tinto Plc.

Highland Heights, Ky.-based General Cable’s purchase includes four manufacturing plants and a distribution center, a General Cable spokesman told AMM. Alcan’s North American business accounts for between 85 and 90 percent of Alcan’s overall revenue. ....
