Alcan move seen spurring more billet hikes

NEW YORK Participants in the aluminum billet market are adamant that contract premiums will increase next year following Rio Tinto Alcans move to raise base prices at least 2 cents per pound.
Rio Tinto Alcan sent a letter to customers at the end of August that stated it will implement the increase on 6063 extrusion billet starting Oct. 1 (amm.com, Sept. 6).....
