China’s steel exports down 1.8% in August

SHANGHAI, China — China’s steel exports dropped for the second consecutive month in August amid falling steel prices and weak sales.

Export tonnages in August totaled some 4.24 million tonnes, down 1.8 percent from 4.32 million tonnes in July but up 1.2 percent year on year, according to preliminary Chinese customs data.....
