Constellium eases stance in latest USW offer

NEW YORK — Constellium has pared back its demands in its most recent contract offer to the United Steelworkers union as it looks to bring to an end a month-long strike at its Ravenswood, W.Va., operations.

The latest offer includes a 95/5 medical plan, under which insurance would cover 95 percent of charges and Ravenswood employees would pay the remainder, the company said. That position marks a major shift for the company, which had previously been pushing for a 90/10 health-care plan, which would have eventually transitioned to an 85/15 plan as it looks to cut costs.....
