Automotive market set to change: IHS

SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — The automotive market will reach pre-recession highs over the next four years, but the market landscape will be different when it does, according to IHS Global Insight Inc. senior consultant Shane Norton.

The Englewood, Colo.-based consultancy predicts that vehicle sales will reach 17.4 million in 2016, surpassing 2000’s high of 17.3 million units, and peak at 18 million in 2020, Norton said during a presentation at the Metals Service Center Institute’s economic forecast conference. ....
