NEW YORK Lead and zinc scrap prices have risen noticeably due to the ongoing surge in London Metal Exchange prices, although junk automotive batteries remain unchanged due to their already inflated pricing position.
Lead scrap rose to a range of 72 to 74 cents per pound from 70 to 72 cents, while cable lead rose to 75 to 77 cents per pound from 73 to 75 cents. Auto batteries held steady at 43 to 45 cents per pound.....
