Boeing to reduce titanium inventory overhang

LOS ANGELES — Boeing Co.’s commercial aircraft titanium inventory remains too high, but the surplus should be worked off in about two years, a company executive said this week.

"We are sitting on a sizable amount of inventory, but we are burning it down pretty well," said Jeff Carpenter, senior manager for raw materials for the supplier management group of the parent’s Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) subsidiary in Everett, Wash.....
