PITTSBURGH Covanta Energy Corp. plans to embark on a collaborative effort to recover scrap metal from ashes generated from waste.
The Morristown, N.J.-based energy company has entered into a joint venture with Berlin-based Tartech Eco Industries AG to recover and recycle metals generated in energy-from-waste operations.
The new company, Covanta Tartech LLC, will develop projects at Covanta-owned ash monofills to recover more metal than it previously could while reducing volumes being deposited. ....
