US manufacturers’ reshoring move to benefit steel: PwC

NEW YORK — PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC) expects increasing numbers of manufacturers to move production back to the United States as transportation and energy costs start to outweigh the benefits of cheaper labor abroad.

"Labor as a cost of production is not nearly as important as transportation and energy," Robert McCutcheon, PwC’s U.S. industrial products leader, told AMM. And those costs will likely continue to rise.....
