A380.1 producers wait to negotiate contracts

NEW YORK — Secondary aluminum alloy producers are waiting for London Metal Exchange pricing to stabilize before they lock in contracts for 2013, and many said that they won’t use formulas based on the North American special aluminum alloy contract (Nasaac).

Discussions over 2013 contracts for such alloys as A380.1 haven’t advanced past the preliminary stage, producers told AMM this past week. "We haven’t gotten far into it yet," one said. "A lot of sellers and buyers are still skeptical of this market rise, so....
