Venezuelan HBI export tags fall on US, Europe uncertainty

SÃO PAULO, Brazil — Increased market uncertainty in the United States and Europe has prompted a drop in hot-briquetted iron (HBI) export prices from Venezuela, the first following six weeks of stability, market sources told AMM sister publication Steel First.

Transaction prices for the scrap substitute, which varied between $300 and $320 per tonne f.o.b. throughout August and the beginning of September, have slipped to $295 to $300 per tonne.....
