Canal remediation to cost Wis. recycler up to $1.8M

PITTSBURGH — Miller Compressing Co. has agreed to pay as much as $1.8 million to improve the quality of a contaminated canal in Wisconsin.

The primary source of the contamination was a wire reclamation furnace that went offline in the 1980s, and Miller Compressing is the cooperating responsible party, according to city documents.....
