Gerdau slates $253M Siderperú expansion

SÃO PAULO, Brazil Gerdau SA will invest $253 million to install a long steel rolling mill and an electric-arc furnace (EF) at Peruvian subsidiary Siderúrgica del Perú SAA (Siderperú).
The 900,000-tonne-per-year rolling mill will be able to produce both reinforcing bar and wire rod, increasing annual capacity for these products to 1.2 million tonnes from 300,000 tonnes, Siderperú said in a notice filed with Peruvian securities....
