Nucor warns of lower third-qtr. profits

CHICAGO Nucor Corp. said it expects a year-over-year decline in third-quarter earnings due to decreased profitability at its sheet mills and ramped-up imports, as well as a number of one-time charges.
The Charlotte, N.C.-based steelmaker said Tuesday that it expects to report earnings of about 30 to 35 cents per diluted share for the three months ending Sept. 29, down from 57 cents in the same period last year but roughly on par with second-quarter earnings of 35 cents per share.....
