Beam mills said quoting at new published tags

LOS ANGELES — Producers of wide-flange steel beams are said to be quoting their new published prices in the wake of a recent price cut without having reverted to widespread discounting that some mills reported from their competitors earlier this summer.

This past week’s $15-per-ton net reduction in beam tags by the four major domestic producers has mills in general quoting a new f.o.b. mill price of $775 per ton ($38.75 per hundredweight) for core beam sizes, sources said this week, noting that it appears mills are largely sticking to their new list prices.....
