Slab imports slip 9.6% on plunge in Mobile

NEW YORK — U.S. steel slab imports fell some 9.6 percent in July compared with the previous month, led by a plunge in shipments into the district of Mobile, Ala.

Slab imports totaled 472,929 tonnes in July, down from June’s 523,341 tonnes, according to data compiled by AMM from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Foreign Trade Division.....
