NEW YORK — ArcelorMittal SA’s North Baffin Island iron ore joint venture has moved a step forward after receiving a key approval.

Toronto-based Baffinland Iron Mines Corp. received confirmation on Sept. 14 that the Nunavut Impact Review Board issued its report to the Federal Minster of Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development Canada (AANDC) indicating that the Mary River project could proceed to the permitting phase.
