US export tags slip on more bulk sales to Turkey

NEW YORK — U.S. exporters booked at least three more bulk sales to Turkey Friday, with some reporting a slight price softening.
Although demand from some mills kept prices from falling substantially below the previous $5-per-tonne drop (amm.com, Sept. 19), at least two bulk sales concluded Friday brought the level down another dollar or two, according to different sources.
One exporter and one trading house sold three mixed-bulk cargoes to three different mills Friday, market participants said.
The sales transacted between $369 and $370 per tonne c.f.r. for an 80/20 mix of No. 1 and No. 2 heavy melt, with shredded scrap selling at $5 above those levels and plate and structural scrap exceeding the heavy melt prices by $10 per tonne.....
