Chinese cold-rolled coil, plate export tags rise

SHANGHAI, China — Chinese cold-rolled coil export prices have risen to $590 to $600 per tonne f.o.b. for November shipment, up from $580 to $590 last week.

The increase reflects "the rise in domestic prices and improved sentiment," a sales executive at a major steelmaker in northern China said.

"Steelmakers will not miss such a good chance to push up export prices," a major trader in Shanghai told AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin. Despite that, it remains to be seen whether September’s export volume will exceed last month’s level, he added.....
