Scrap pickup not on horizon: A&A exec

PITTSBURGH — Scrap prices won’t rebound in the near term, according to a top executive at A&A Midwest Recycling, whose bearish forecast for the fourth quarter stems from a slowdown in the Chinese economy and financial issues facing Europe.

"I just don’t see anything out there to drive prices up over the next few months," Scott Stolberg, president and chief executive officer, told AMM. "(Prices) are already heading down now and will stay down through the rest of the year. I don’t see the economy as being all that strong, and while there is some activity going on it’s not all that much."....
