NEW YORK U.S. export prices for containerized ferrous scrap to India have dropped $5 per tonne over the past week, according to market participants.
Buyers for Indian mills reportedly were negotiating shredded scrap deliveries in a range of $400 to $405 per tonne c.f.r. Nhava Sheva vs. the prior weeks range of $405 to $410 (amm.com, Sept. 20).
A few sources, however, reported transactions at $5 per tonne above and below the consensus $400- to $405-per-tonne range for shredded scrap delivered to Mumbais main port.....
