Tokyo Steel continues to cut scrap prices

TOKYO — Japanese scrap tags continue to slide as Tokyo Steel Manufacturing Co. Ltd. again cut its scrap buying prices amid lackluster demand and falling export tags.

The country’s largest electric-arc furnace operator and effective benchmark price-setter has cut its purchase prices for scrap delivered to its five plants by another ¥500 ($6) per tonne.....
