CME plans China rebar swap futures contract

NEW YORK CME Group Inc. plans to launch a new steel swap futures contract for Chinese reinforcing bar beginning Oct. 15 in an effort to reduce price volatility in the steel supply chain.
"Our new rebar contract allows customers who have exposure to the Chinese construction and rebar industries to manage their price risk by using the most relevant price data," Harriet Hunnable, CME managing director of metals products, said in a statement....
