CHICAGO Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies USA expects to increase its purchases of stainless steel in coming years thanks to an anticipated increase in vehicle sales in North America and around in the world, according to a purchasing executive.
The division of Nanterre, France-based Faurecia SA is among the largest suppliers of auto exhaust systems in the world, with one of every four vehicles in North America sporting one of its systems, commodity purchasing director Daniel Prestel said.
While 41 percent of Faurecias sales originate in Europe, 34 percent now come from North America, a region where the company has seen "quite a bit of growth" in the past two to three years, Prestel said at AMMs 26th annual Stainless and Its Alloys Conference in Chicago. ....
