Ford seeks ways to hike fuel efficiency

CHICAGO Ford Motor Co. is looking at a range of options to boost fuel efficiency and lower carbon dioxide emissions, including moving away from metals to reduce vehicle weight.
"Substantial weight reduction is a key part of Fords strategy. Thats not only alternative metals (to steel) but even work on carbon fibers," according to Theodore Miller, a senior research manager at the Dearborn, Mich.-based automaker.....
