Cliffs chrome project delayed to 2016

NEW YORK — The start-up of Cliffs Natural Resources Inc.’s chrome project in northern Ontario will be delayed by a year because the site selection process for the ferrochrome processing facility took longer than expected.

"The mine will not be up and running until sometime in 2016," Gregory McClain, vice president of ferroalloy marketing, said at AMM’s 26th annual Stainless and Its Alloys Conference in Chicago. The company previously expected a 2015 start-up (amm.com, July 30).....
