USW continues voting on ArcelorMittal deal

NEW YORK The results of a ratification vote by United Steelworkers union members on a tentative three-year labor agreement with ArcelorMittal USA Inc. are expected Oct. 18.
Voting continues on the proposed contract, which would be retroactive to Sept. 1 and expire Sept. 1, 2015, the USW said Monday.
The contract, which would cover nearly 14,000 unionized workers at 15 of the Chicago-based steelmakers flat carbon, long carbon and iron ore mining locations, includes lump-sum payments; wage increases on Sept. 1, 2013, and Jan. 1, 2015; and a profit-sharing plan.
