Brazil initiates higher duties on steel imports

SÃO PAULO — The Brazilian government has approved an increase in the import tariffs applied to 100 products in several sectors, including steel, aluminum and copper.
The new duties, which run as high as 25 percent, are effective immediately and will be valid for 12 months, with the option to renew until Dec. 31, 2014, Brazil’s Chamber of Foreign Trade....
