Secondary metal output up in China

MUNICH — China produced about 5.4 million tons of secondary nonferrous metal products such as alloys in the first nine months of 2012, up 3.8 percent from the same period last year, according to the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association Recycling Metal Branch (CMRA).

Recycled copper production remained unchanged at about 1.7 million tons, but secondary aluminum output rose 4 percent to 2.8 million tons and production of secondary lead increased nearly 7 percent to 900,000 tons.....
