Brazil's Silat breaks ground on long product rolling mill project

SÃO PAULO – Siderúrgica Latino-Americana SA (Silat) held a ground-breaking ceremony for a long steel rolling mill project in Brazil’s northeastern Ceará state Tuesday.

The project will include a 600,000-tonne-per-year rebar and wire rod mill and a 60,000-tonne-per-year drawing line. It will cost 300 million reais ($148 million), according to the Ceará government.....
