Some European aluminum deals inked for 2013

LONDON European aluminum producers have begun signing contracts for 2013 supplies that, while exceptional, illustrate the complexity that high premiums have introduced to supply talks this year.
One producer has agreed to a contract with an auto parts maker for the monthly supply of aluminum for the first half of next year. Under the terms of the deal, the buyer will pay a fixed premium with an up-charge for the first quarter and then for the second quarter will switch to a floating premium tied to the aluminum premium of AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin.
It is likely that other contract business for 2013 will be concluded with similarly complex terms.....
