NEW YORK — Delivered zinc premiums are holding steady as producers and consumers begin talks on special-high-grade contract premiums for 2013.
A growing sense that supplies are tight has helped keep a floor under delivered premiums for special-high-grade zinc, even amid demand that was described as steady to slow.
"Typically we’d sell SHG, too," one die cast alloy producer told AMM. "But it’s pretty tight for the U.S.—zinc is now mimicking aluminum. There’s tons available, but it’s all tied up in financing deals and you can’t get it out."....
