Kloeckner Metals pauses M&A but looking to grow long term

ROSEMONT, Ill. While Kloeckner Metals Corp. is currently taking a breather from mergers and acquisitions, it has long-term plans to expand, according to Russ Delaney, president of Kloeckners flat-rolled group.
Kloeckner, part of Duisburg, Germany-based service center operator Klöckner & Co. SE, is still working to merge the cultures of Newport Beach, Calif.-based Macsteel Service Centers USA Inc. and Roswell, Ga.-based Namasco Corp., Delaney said. Both were recently brought under the Kloeckner umbrella.
With Namasco strong in long products and Macsteel strong in flat-rolled, the combination in theory was a "marriage made in heaven," Delaney said. "But marriages have their ups and downs. You both have to change. And thats where were at. Were trying to blend the cultures." ....
