Copper wire scrap processor expands

NEW YORK — High Voltage Processing Inc. has moved to a larger copper wire scrap processing facility in Pennsylvania and plans to open another in Asia by 2014, co-owner Jim Dwyer told AMM.
The new 7,000-square-foot facility in Allentown, Pa., which produces copper chops, opened its doors to the general public Wednesday, Dwyer said. The company formerly operated at a facility in Nazareth, Pa., which is in the process of shutting down.
The new facility currently operates two lines with a combined capacity of about 310,000 pounds per month and Dwyer hopes to add a third line "in the next couple of months." The third high-speed line will be able to process wire less than 2 inches in diameter at a capacity of 250,000 to 300,000 pounds per month.....
