Chinese titanium firms struggle with demand

ATLANTA — China, the world’s largest titanium market, is suffering from the "double pressure" of a flagging global economy and domestic inflation, resulting in a lack of demand, according to the head of the country’s largest producer.

Zou Wuzhuang, president of Baoji City-based Baoti Group Ltd. and chairman of Baoji Special Steel Titanium Industry Co. Ltd., told the International Titanium Association (ITA) that China’s titanium industry is "challenged" by rising raw material and production costs. ....
