LONDON Nickel prices will average $17,500 per tonne in 2013, trading in a range of $8,500, according to Keith Dunleavy, founder and managing director of Stratton Metals Ltd., London.
"It will be stronger in the first quarter, and who knows thereafter. Dont rule out $23,500. The downside will be $14,000," he told AMM sister publication Metal Bulletin. "The market will be in a surplus of about 60,000 tonnes for the full-year 2012. This comes on top of oversupply from the past two years, so you have got stock in the pipeline. I expect premiums to be under pressure."....
