NEW YORK Lack of activity kept copper scrap spreads largely unchanged and brass prices stable this past week, even as exchange prices were volatile, sources told AMM.
Spreads for copper scrap held steady with the exception of spreads for No. 1 copper scrap sold to U.S. brass mills. Those narrowed to a range of 8 to 10 cents under the Comex price (or $3.564 to $3,584), as traders reported a more limited range for transacted prices than the 9- to 11-cent range in which they had previously been trading. ....
