NEW YORK U.S. steel slab imports jumped 15.1 percent month on month in August, largely due to strong gains in Mobile, Ala., and the Columbia-Snake district.
Slab imports for the month rose to 544,374 tonnes from 472,929 tonnes in July, according to data compiled by AMM from the U.S. Census Bureaus Foreign Trade Division. ....
