CMC taking outages in S. Carolina, Poland

CHICAGO Commercial Metals Co. (CMC) is currently in the midst of a major outage at its steel mill in South Carolina, with additional downtime slated at the mill next month as well as at its southern Poland facility.
The Irving, Texas-based steelmaker plans to spend about $160 million in fiscal 2013 after spending $104 million of a planned $140 million in fiscal 2012, CMC president and chief executive officer Joseph Alvarado said. A significant portion of that money will be devoted to "major initiatives" to upgrade the mills in Cayce, S.C., and Zawiercie, Poland.....
