Metals log drop in shipment, new order values as inventories flat

CHICAGO U.S. metals producers shipments and new orders edged lower in September compared with August, while inventories were essentially flat, Census Bureau statistics released Thursday show.
The value of primary metals producers shipments, not seasonally adjusted, fell 5.7 percent last month to $27.9 billion from $29.6 billion in August.
New order values reached $26.7 billion in September, down 5.4 percent month on month.....
